When & Where

May 30, 2021, 3:00 PM

Portland, 15115 NW Gillihan Rd, Portland, OR 97231, USA

Who

What

We'll gather at Wapato Island Farm, the concert will begin, and for the first 20 minutes we'll listen to the music of the land. You can walk through the fields, linger by the pond, stand under the willow, and hear it.

Then we'll congregate, in an open outdoor space surrounded by the wild everything, for human music. The Northwest Piano Trio will perform for 30 minutes - you're invited to bring blankets and chairs, lie in heaps or sit at attention, and listen.

The trio will break for a 15 minute intermission at which point you can return to your wandering, notice how the music of the island sounds after the human music.

At the end of intermission, you're welcome to stay in the fields or by the pond or spread your blanket by the goats, and listen to the sound of everything all together. The sound of humans intermingled with nature; which really amounts to, simply, nature - because we're part of it, of course. Indistinguishable.

It just takes a little tuning in to hear it...

As always - this is a free event. If you are able to afford a donation to our project we will be glad and grateful and will use it to continue to build this house, in which we hope you'll feel at home.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Masks. There will be plenty of space to stay safely apart and for most of the day you may find you don't need it but bring it. It will be required at all times when we're less than 6 feet apart.

• Blankets or Chairs you can tote about. We won't be provinding any seating. If you're happy on the grass, no need to bring anything!

• Beverages in containers you can carry away. We don't want to leave anything behind on the land.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

• Dogs. Wapato Island Farm is a working organic farm complete with goats, pigs and chickens. Dog visitors are, sadly, too hard to fold in peacefully.

• Food. We will be providing some treats after the concert - please snack as needed beforehand so you can listen comfortably without bringing any additional food.
