This workshop explores and supports the practice of examining all the different ways we might see what is right in front of us - whether it’s an emotional question, a relationship tangle, or a still life arrangement.


We will gather around three objects lit by candles and draw what we see. Then we'll find a new perspective - a new angle, vantage point, drawing style, art medium, etc - and draw the same objects again, and again, and again. We'll notice what stays the same every time and what is revealed with each shift. Without forcing connections or leaning too heavily into analysis, we'll invite the physical practice of looking and reflecting what we see on paper to shine light on our deeper landscapes.

Finding Us

The Atlanta Grief House Nickerson Cottage at Legacy Park Decatur 500 S. Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30030 Notes on finding us: GPS will take you to the center of Legacy Park. The Nickerson Cottage is a stone building with raised bed gardens on the south side of Legacy Park's campus. If you enter campus through the south entrance it will be the first cottage you come to. You can park in any of the surrounding lots. If coming in the evening you will see the string lights on our front porch. Nickerson Cottage is largely wheelchair accessible.
